Workshops & Classes



Throughout the year we will feature a classes and workshop on a wide variety of subjects including composition, how to select a camera, post processing, and keys to effectively use smartphone cameras, just to name a few.


The following are some excellent resources for you to check out.


Many of our Speakers also offer local one-day workshops and photography adventures. Check out workshops by Colleen Miniuk, Amy Horn, and Kathleen Reeder. Many of our Club members have taken workshops from these photographers and can provide you with information about their experience.


The Desert Botanical Garden offers a number of art and photography classes for adults. As an extra benefit you have an opportunity to practice your photography in the Garden.


In addition to leading photography workshops, Suzanne Mathia teaches classes in Lightroom and Photoshop.



The City of Peoria offers Enrichment Classes that sometimes include classes in digital photography. You might also want to check out programs offered by the cities of Phoenix, Surprise and Glendale and the local community colleges through the Maricopa County Community College District.


Beginner's Guide to iPhone Photography Whether you are using your iPhone as your second camera or your only camera, this class is for you! Join Scott Kelby as he takes you through over 20 tips, tricks, and techniques for making your iPhone photos look like they were shot on a DSLR or mirrorless camera. Each lesson is focused on a key tip or technique, where Scott shows you all the settings required and then demonstrates how to make it work. You’ll learn how to take sharper photos, use the real shutter button, how to take better portraits, improve your panos, shoot in raw, edit in the Photos app, and so much more!
