MESSAGE FROM THE BOARD PRESIDENT
Welcome to the Summer Edition of the President’s Message:
Our membership has largely moved out of town or is traveling as people head to cooler climates. There will be no meeting again until September 2024. Stay tuned for information about that meeting.
Instead of having a “summer theme”, I propose we have a simple monthly theme: “What is your favorite photo that you have taken this month?” Then submit your favorite photo via email to tpc.contact21@gmail.com so that we can include it on our website Gallery. Please indicate in your email if your photo is “June Favorite Photo”, “ July Favorite Photo” or “August Favorite Photo”. Your photos can reflect summer vibes or vacation moments or family moments that were special to you. Let your creativity shine as you interpret the spirit of summer through your lenses. And, hey!, if you are staying here in town for part or all of the summer, there are lots of creative ways to work on your photography indoors in the cool air conditioning! Share your best shots with us!
Some of us are attending workshops during the summer. If you have the opportunity, let us know what you did and share some of your work.
Summer is also a great time for reading and learning. Check out our information on the website (tpcav.net) under the Education tab for some useful resources. OR…if you find a useful photography app, an inspiring photography book, or a memorable experience, let us hear from you and we can add it to the website for all of our members to share. Send your thoughts to tpc.contact21@gmail.com. Remember: Every picture tells a story (Thanks, Rod Stewart). Share the story.
The secret to better photos? Take more photos.
Duane Lakin, President
PLEASE NOTE: When you are submitting a theme photo for the website Gallery, please resize to the competition size specifications: 1080 pixels height and 1920 pixels width. This means no vertical size can exceed 1080 and no horizontal can exceed 1920. It does NOT mean that your photo must be exactly 1080 by 1920. I also suggest you use 100 dpi or less…probably 72 is ideal…for display on websites. This helps keep the file size smaller and the website flows more smoothly. If you are confused about how to size, check out more detailed instructions HERE. Shoot, size, and submit! Final comment: Submit your photos to tpc.contact21@gmail.com. Please use this email address.
