APRIL 2025
MESSAGE FROM THE BOARD PRESIDENT
Dear Photography Club Members,
Spring is here, and it’s the perfect moment to get outside and capture the beauty of this time of the year! The bushes are blooming, trees are full, and local birds and animals are busy enjoying the new season.
It is good timing that our THEME OF THE MONTH is NATURE’S PATTERNS. Go explore, take photos, and send them to tpcphotos4myclub@gmail.com. Please submit your photos by Monday, April 2. I will show a few at our next meeting and ALL will be posted on the Gallery section of this website.
Speaking of the Gallery…be sure to look at photos from Saguaro Lake trip as well as the great photos from last month’s theme of “music.” Thank you to all who submitted photos and embraced the fun theme. There is still time to submit your photos of the Saguaro Lake trip if you have not already done so.
The club outing along Route 66 is this month. It will be an exciting trip, and I look forward to seeing photos. We will use the “Spotlight” time in October to hear and see highlights from the trip.
Our April 23rd meeting will feature Bert Sirkin via Zoom. Bert is a professional photographer who offers many workshops and training sessions online. He will share with us his insights on “The Art of Seeing and Visualization.” Linda Walsh will tell us her story behind the photo and Kevin Klein will give us a tip on how to remove reflections from our photos with Photoshop. Terry Corbin will also give us ideas for shooting video with the smartphone.
In September, we plan to focus on how to use the judging criteria from a typical competition to improve any photo. It is also an opportunity to think about how to put some finishing touches on photos prior to the ACCC competition for the Fall. If you have a photo you would like us to use in this exercise, please send them to tpcphotos4myclub@gmail.com and label them “for use in September meeting”. We won’t be able to feature all of them, but we will try to look at as many as possible.
Shoot, Reflect, Experiment, Learn, Have fun! And remember: The secret to taking better photos is to TAKE MORE PHOTOS!
