DECEMBER 2025
MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
Season’s Greetings Club Members:
The community is getting busier with more cars and trash bins. It must be the return of the Snowbirds. Welcome back everyone.
The club is also getting busier. Kevin’s Korner is filled with ideas for “Meet-Ups”. Check these out on the website. Find something you would like to do and invite members to join you. Everyone can meet at the mail boxes and start a new day-long adventure of photo opportunities. Find an activity that you want to do, and invite us to join.
The December meeting is Wednesday, the 10th. We will be repeating the program on judging (critiquing) a photo. Members will use the “rubric” to score an image and then offer a suggestion of a change that might improve the score. This is a terrific opportunity to sharpen your eye for looking at your own photos. Several members have provided images for review. This is especially a good time to offer a photo that you might be considering for the upcoming club competition. Maybe you will get an idea to improve your photo before submitting it to our outside judges. Unfortunately, we will only have time for about 6-8 photos, so send us your photo soon.
The Story Behind the Photo will be presented by Laurie Brandaw. The Meet-A-Member will feature Al Ungar.
The Theme-of-the-Month is Street Photography. This is the natural follow-up to my presentation on the subject at November’s meeting. I really enjoyed sharing the topic and my photos. I hope you got some ideas that you can use as you participate in the theme of the month.
So clean your lens and head out to an event somewhere or just go to a fun place to people watch. It will be great to have a lot of street photographs to present in our Kiva display in December.
And remember: The secret to taking better photos is to TAKE MORE PHOTOS!
