JANUARY 2026
MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
Dear Club Members,
Happy New Year! We hope you had a wonderful holiday season and are ready to kick off the new year with some exciting photography projects. The January meeting is right around the corner, and we have some great things planned for the year ahead! Help make this year an active one for the club by participating in the meetings, competitions, and “meet-ups”. Photos are fun, but photographers (YOU!) are what really make our club a success.
Current club photo Theme of the Month (TOM): Holi-Daze
Have fun with the current TOM. Find ways to reflect the holiday spirit and the “daze” that often accompanies this time of the year. Share up to three photos to tpcphots4myclub@gmail.com. Then visit the website and enjoy the photos under “Galleries”. I’ll show a few of them at our January 28 meeting.
January 28 Club Meeting: Our next meeting will feature Cole Thompson, a renowned professional photographer, who will talk to us via Zoom about black and white photography. He will highlight the difference between “black and white photography” and “black and white fine art photography.” You can view his portfolio at colethompsonphotography.com. His work is quite extraordinary.
In addition to Cole, Pam New will introduce herself for “Meet a Member” and Randy Smith will be telling us the “Story behind the Photo.” Thanks to you both for joining in the fun.
Reminder: Club Annual Photo Contest
: The deadline for our annual photo contest is approaching. Remember to submit your photos by 6 p.m. on February 1, 2026 to Mary Gill, our Competition Director, at tpcphotos4myclub@gmail.com. This year’s categories are:
- Arches
- Open (color)
- Open (monochrome)
Check out the full contest rules on this website under Competitions. If you have questions, please contact Mary Gill at the above email address.
Meet-Ups: We do not have any specific “Meet-Ups” scheduled as a club, but check the website under “Events” (Kevin’s Korner”) for ideas that may interest you. Find something you would like to do? Invite other members, and you have created a Meet-Up.
This is your club, so we want to hear from you!
Do you have any photography tips, ideas for future club themes, or suggestions for activities? Feel free to reach out to me or other members in the club at trilogyphotoclub25@gmail.com, or bring your ideas to our next meeting. Also, we have openings later this year for “Story Behind the Photo” and “Meet a Member”. Our success as a club depends on you. And if you are a little shy or need help in preparing a photo, just reach out to me. I’ll be glad to help or to connect you to someone who actually knows something useful. Jump in and help the club stay strong.
I am looking forward to a creative and inspiring year ahead with all of you! Keep those cameras and smartphones busy. Shoot, Reflect, Experiment, Learn, Have fun! And remember: The secret to taking better photos is to TAKE MORE PHOTOS!
